When I saw this Jumpsuit for the sew your view challenge I loved it. I have a thing for jumpsuits and this one was calling my name.
I picked out the perfect fabric (well you helped me) and got to work. (Down hill from here hahahaha)
Pattern Review
Pattern Description: Fern Jumpsuit by Mood Fabrics
Pattern Sizing: So this is where the issues started. I cut a size 18 not too sure why because I know I matched my measurements to size chart, but now that I look at it I really should have cut a 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Eventually it did. Of course I made it my own
Were the instructions easy to follow? I really would have loved more picture steps because I struggle with reading instructions. The pictures that were there to me were not sufficient. The sew your view host for this challenge however did provide an amazing tutorial on instagram and also informed us that the back pattern piece needed to be cut in two instead of on fold as one piece.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style, the loose fit and even the model picture.
Fabric Used: I used a monsterra leaf fabric from Hobby Lobby (sold out), Other options Green white Leaf Fabric. Black and white Monsterra Leaf
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
– I had to take it in quite a bit because of the size I cut.
– I left the pants as is and decided I was going to add an elastic waist
– I left out the buttons on the cuff and left out the belt buckle
– I took in the top at the front and back center and sides. The back V was low and I was really trying to raise it.
– I shortened the straps
Would you sew it again? I might just to see if the adjusted size works better
